On December 10th, MEC Tasneem Motara returned to Dan Tloome, keeping her promise to visit the families who recently received the keys to their new homes.

In the warm and intimate setting of beneficiary Constance Mologadi’s home, women gathered for “Tea with Tasneem” to share their journeys, their hopes, and their experiences of settling into their new spaces.

A Dignified Conclusion to the 16 Days of Activism

As the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign comes to a close, this visit was about listening, connecting, and standing with survivors as they begin to rebuild their lives with dignity and safety.

The atmosphere was one of profound appreciation. The women were happy and deeply grateful for the allocation of their new houses, thanking the Minister for restoring their dignity. As one beneficiary shared, “Our children have a home now, which has restored our dignity.”

Sometimes, healing begins with conversation—and today, those conversations happened at home.

The MEC’s return underscores the commitment to not just provide structures, but to foster true, lasting settlements where families can thrive.
