The Dan Tloome Sports Council and Academy (DTSCA) officially launched on December 16, 2025.

In a fruitful partnership with Ariobex Foundation, the DTSCA successfully hosted an ECD sports tournament consisting of two sporting codes – soccer and netball – and primarily focused on the U/15 age groups as well as a family cup catering for the community at large.

A total of 14 teams participated in the tournament along with a total of 8 teams who participated in the family cup, all with the hopes of securing either of the top 3 prizes that were up for grabs.

Members of the Ariobex Foundaion graced the event with their presence. Followed by a turnout of approximately 500 which exceeded the expected number of 300.

Ultimately, the sports tournament was successful and all participants as well as the viewers were satisfied with the outcome of the event as what was promised was delivered.

EventObjectivesandPurpose

The purpose of this event was to encourage participation from the youth, to nurture talent, build solid partnerships, promote health and wellness, and to lay a

foundation for long-term sports development.

Essentially, the DTSCA aimed to strengthen early childhood development through structured sports and create inclusive opportunities for the disadvantaged youth of Dan Tloome.

Furthermore, the Dan Tloome Sports Council and Academy aims to serve as a

catalyst and enhance safe spaces – such as the sports grounds and netball courts, support local talent growth long-term youth development and promote community unity.

The Dan Tloome Family Cup was the first step to building unity within the community across all ages. The objective was to create a space where nothing matters apart from teamwork, fun and winning.

  • Marketing&PromotionAnalysis

The marketing and promotion of this event was effortless and hassle free. After releasing the official poster, members of the DTSCA shared details of the event with colleagues, friends, family and other members of the community.

Essentially, the sports tournament marketed at promoted itself, as we simply used:

  • Word of Mouth
  • SocialMedia
  • PromotionVideos
  • PostersAroundtheCommunity

Moreover, when Prestige Football Development Academy as well as the Thuso Phala Foundation posted on their official pages, the event gained traction fast. This was then followed by many coaches reaching out via social media and others through direct call, to pay the required affiliation of R350 and stand a chance at becoming one of the Top 3.

As the DTSCA, we plan to improve on the netball segment of the tournament as things and gather more teams as well as attendees. Our aim is to also improve and enhance our sports facilities to ensure the safety of players and amplify their play by providing facilities that are up to standard.

As an organisation, the DTSCA looks forward to hosting more tournaments and Family Cup events in the future as the community was jolly and unified following the event.

Conclusion

The Dan Tloome Sports Council and Academy in partnership with Ariobex Foundation successfully hosted the ECD sports tournament and family cup. Despite the challenges that arose throughout the process, the DTSCA and the Ariobex Foundation managed to deliver on their promise to the and the community at large.

Furthermore, the DTSCA looks forward to building a sustainable framework for sports development, as well the provision of immediate opportunities for participation and the nurturing of local talent.
